Show Notes

Birth rarely goes as planned, and the way you remember your birth matters. If your birth wasn't what you had expected, or didn't go as "planned", you are not alone in that! In episode 3 Sarah and Stephanie share their birth stories and open up about their experiences with navigating through and healing from birth trauma.

Birth trauma is real, and can manifest mentally, physically, and emotionally. What one may perceive as a "normal" birth experience may be deeply troubling for another. Studies show that 25-34% of all birthing people experience some degree of birth trauma. If you are experiencing trauma or negative feelings around your birth (no matter how old your children are) such as sadness, depression, or anger there are resources that can help!

Postpartum Support International - The purpose of Postpartum Support International is to increase awareness among public and professional communities about the emotional changes that women experience during pregnancy and postpartum.
Solace For Mothers - Solace for Mothers is an organization designed for the sole purpose of providing and creating support for women who have experienced childbirth as traumatic.
PATTCH (Prevention and Treatment of Traumatic Childbirth) expands awareness and increases access to education surrounding birth trauma.
